Gina Fiume began her ballet training at Ballet Pacifica in Laguna Beach, California at the age of 6. There she received the highest level of training in the classical Vaganova and Cechetti methods while also training in many other styles of dance. She started performing with Ballet Pacifica during the advanced stages of her training and was dancing with the company in all productions by age 13.


While a student, Gina’s training included the Pacific Northwest Ballet and Joffrey Ballet summer intensives, and attended and performed in the Pacific Regional Ballet Festivals annually. Gina also received further training in contemporary ballet under Molly Lynch after was appointed as the Ballet Pacifica Artistic Director. Throughout her distinguished tenure at Ballet Pacifica, she trained and worked with well-known teachers including David Allan, Alaine Haubert, Janek Schurgen, Lynn Cox, Charles Maple, and Robert Sund. Also, with many well-known choreographers including Lynn Taylor-Corbett, Ann-Marie DeAngelo, Rick McCullough, Paul Vasterling, Peter Pucci and Stephen Mills among others. Many of the roles she performed throughout her career were created on her and she is recognized for her precise technique, strength, and flexibility. With her extensive 25 years of teaching experience and passionate interest in nurturing the next generations of dancers, Gina has carefully honed her teaching skills through study, observation, influenced by her own performance experience and continued education. Gina is a certified instructor in the ABT® National Teachers Training Curriculum at ABT-NY for levels Pre-Primary to level 5, a designation earned over ten years ago. Her knowledge and instruction of classical ballet technique has proven to develop strength and fluidity of movement that is necessary for today’s dancer, and she strives to instill the importance of a strong foundation of technique to achieve freedom of movement. Her experience and interest include the instruction of all levels and abilities, including beginning to professional to adults. In addition to her ballet teaching certification and experience, Gina is also a certified Pilates instructor.


In addition to Gina’s 20-year professional dance career with Ballet Pacifica, she also guested extensively for other companies, theater productions and studios. After significant experience as a company member with Ballet Pacifica, she was mentored to become a future Ballet Mistress or Director. Gina knew choreography to not only all ballets within the repertoire, but also the well renowned Ballets for Children. During several years of teaching at Ballet Pacifica and their summer intensives, she re-staged several classical ballets including Les Sylphides, La Sylphide (excerpts), Swan Lake (Act II), Paquita, Giselle, the Nutcracker(excerpts), and many female and male variations required in the training of young dancers. She has also produced full length classical Nutcracker Suite and other classical and contemporary-based works. 


Following her career with Ballet Pacifica, Gina owned her own successful studio in Southern California. Over the years, many of her students have been accepted to and attended well known summer intensive programs and year-round schools such as Royal Ballet, ABT, SAB, PNB, SFB, OBT, North Carolina School of the Arts, National Ballet of Canada, Austin Ballet, Julliard, Harid Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, The Bolshoi Academy, and Kirov Academy among others. Gina also prepared many students to successfully compete in prestigious ballet competitions such as Youth American Grand Prix and the Music Center Spotlight Awards. Her dancers have gone on to achieve professional dance careers from companies around the globe.


Gina currently resides in Boise, Idaho, training and educating dancers at Ballet Idaho and Studio C. For the last ten years, Gina has held her own annual winter and summer intensives to accentuate her students’ regular training.
