Michaela Marie Pickett began her dance training at the age of 6 at Los Angeles Ballet Academy (then Theatrics Dance Academy) in Van Nuys, California. She studied ballet under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) method, as well as a variety of jazz and contemporary dance styles. After graduating from LABA, as well as Louisville High School, Michaela attended Chapman University in Orange, California, where she received a Bachelor of the Arts in Dance Performance Major and Nutrition Minor. She not only continued her ballet, jazz, and contemporary training while at Chapman, but also began to heavily train in various classical and contemporary modern dance techniques. Michaela has studied under numerous world-renowned teachers and choreographers, and has attended an array of summer intensives, including: American Academy of Ballet, School of American Ballet, Royal Ballet School, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. She is currently a member of JESSICA KONDRATH | THE MOVEMENT, a contemporary ballet/modern dance company based in Long Beach, California, and participates in periodic commercial dance work in the Los Angeles area. In addition to pursuing a professional dance career and serving as Creative Assistant for Francisco Gella Dance Works, Michaela teaches at Los Angeles Ballet Academy.
