Laura Greig

Laura began dancing in California at the age of 4 with lessons in Ballet, Tap and Jazz. She soon discovered Classical Ballet was her passion. Her training began with Southland Ballet’s Artistic Director Salwa Rizkalla, a former prima ballerina with the Bolshoi Ballet. At Southland Ballet Academy, Laura trained rigorously and her professional, classical ballet training dream became a reality, and was eventually invited to be a company member with Festival Ballet Theatre. She performed professionally with this company until she was seventeen. Her performances included roles in Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, The Little Mermaid, La Bayadere, Gisele and The Nutcracker yearly with Festival Ballet Theatre and Joffrey Ballet. Laura performed the solo roles of “Serenity Fairy”, “Kitri”, “Giselle” and “Sugar Plum Fairy”.

As a preprofessional dancer, Laura participated in master classes from legendary dancers including Prima Maya Plisetskaya, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Karen Kain, Paula Abdul, Gelsey Kirkland, Wendy Whelan, and Peter Boal. At age thirteen, Laura was accepted on full Scholarship to Los Alamitos Performing Arts High School. She attended summer intensives at Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and Kirov. During her senior year of high school her family moved to Washington state where she danced with Morca Ballet Academy and then Northwest Ballet.

Following her graduation from Blaine High School, Laura earned an Associates Degree in Psychology and became certified as a Chemical Dependency Counselor. Within several years, she returned to her love of teaching dance. Accepting an offer as an instructor at A Gift of Dance before coming to Infinity Dance Company, where she now teaches Intermediate/Advanced Ballet, Pointe, Variations and Pilates. Additionally, she also teaches private lessons in Seattle and is a guest instructor at various studios.

Laura is also the founding owner of Dance Prodigy Booking, which she launched in 2013. Dance Prodigy Booking was the first to partner with Joffrey Ballet School to bring summer intensive auditions to Whatcom County, WA and is responsible for bringing numerous professionals to the Pacific Northwest. Additionally, Dance Prodigy Booking offers private lessons, audition preparation and pre- professional training. Laura is passionate about bringing quality opportunities for training and experience to EVERY dancer. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and three boys.
